Seller Strategies Episode #3: How to Increase Order Value and Cross Sell

How to Increase Order Value

Welcome back to the latest edition of our Amazon Seller Strategy Series! Today we have a seller strategy hack that will help you increase your order value. It’s such an easy adjustment to your listing, you’ll wonder why you weren’t doing this before! As you probably know, the most successful Amazon FBA sellers are selling more than one product. And chances are, those products are related or fall under a similar category. So if a customer is interested in one of your products, why not show them everything you have?

In this video, Maria and Ervin are discussing all of the potential benefits of implementing this seller strategy. It’s as simple as adding a photo to your product’s gallery that shows all of the other products you offer. It’s so simple, it doesn’t even seem like a hack!

Take the example “chalkboard sign” mentioned in the video, and plug it into the Amazon search bar. One of the first sponsored products to come up is by the Amazon store VersaChalk.

The standout feature of this listing is that the 7th photo in their gallery shows all of their related products. If you add this feature, a customer will have the chance to add additional products to their order – right from you! And if you watched our last episode on Amazon coupons, this is also a great opportunity to offer a discount.

If your customer buys more than one product, offer the second product at a discount. This incentive will definitely have an impact on increasing your order value. And even if your products don’t compliment one another, you could still offer a discount if multiple units are purchased. If they buy 2 they get X amount off, buy 3 for X amount, etc.

Frequently Bought Together?

It’s also important to note, the more you cross-promote your products, it’s likely Amazon will link these products together. And this gives you a greater opportunity to control the “Frequently Bought Together” section. Usually, your product is added with another seller’s product to this feature, but you can potentially control part of that process the more you cross-promote.

Watch the video now to learn even more about improving your conversion rate and overall Amazon ranking. Also, there’s an opportunity to lower your PPC costs. All of these benefits from one simple hack!

Stay tuned for our next episode on our hidden trick to finding that next product to sell…

  1. I was under the impression that it is against Amazons rules to promote other products in the images. I did so earlier, but removed it because I didn’t want to have the listing suspended.
